Your complete guide to watching the IEM Cologne Major 2026, the first CS2 Major of the year. Schedule, teams, streams, prize pool, and reminders.
The first Counter-Strike 2 Major of the year lands in Cologne from June 2 to June 21, 2026. IEM Cologne Major 2026 brings 32 of the world's best CS2 rosters to Germany for three weeks of Swiss-stage chess and a playoff weekend at the LANXESS Arena. If you want to follow every match, here is how to watch the IEM Cologne Major 2026 from anywhere in the world.
Schedule and dates
The IEM Cologne Major 2026 runs across four stages over twenty days.
- Stage 1 (Swiss): June 2 to June 5, online with studio support. Sixteen teams seeded from Valve Regional Standings play down to eight survivors.
- Stage 2 (Swiss): June 6 to June 9. The eight Stage 1 survivors meet eight more directly invited teams. Eight advance again.
- Stage 3 (Swiss): June 11 to June 15, played in front of fans at the Palladium in Cologne. The eight survivors face the eight top-seeded invites. Eight playoff spots are decided here.
- Playoffs: June 18 to June 21 at the LANXESS Arena, with grand finals on Sunday.
The full bracket and per-day match list is on the IEM Cologne tournament page on Esport Agenda, with start times in your local timezone.
Where to watch
Every match streams free in English on the official ESL Counter-Strike channels:
- Twitch: twitch.tv/esl_csgo (main stream)
- YouTube: youtube.com/eslcs (mirror)
Co-streams are expected from regional partners in French, German, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian, and Mandarin. The official partner list is published a few days before Stage 1. Many community casters with Twitch Drops or watch-party rights, including HLTV Confirmed and rdy.gg, will run their own shows during peak hours.
Drops and pick'em rewards (skins, viewer-mission stickers) are typically tied to the official broadcast. Link your Steam account to your ESL profile before Stage 1 if you want to collect them.
Format
The 2026 Major introduces best-of-three matches across every elimination and progression slot, even in the Swiss stages. Highlights of the format:
- Swiss stages: Bo1 for opening rounds, Bo3 for advance and elimination matches.
- Playoffs: Eight teams in single elimination. Quarterfinals and semifinals are Bo3, the grand final is Bo5.
- Prize pool: $1,250,000 USD, with $500,000 to the winner and Major champion stickers for the lifting roster.
There are 32 teams across the four stages, all invited directly from the Valve Regional Standings as of the April 6, 2026 cutoff. No open qualifier path runs into this Major.
Teams to watch
The Stage 3 invites give a snapshot of the favorites entering Cologne. The eight directly seeded into Stage 3 are Vitality, Natus Vincere, Team Falcons, The MongolZ, PARIVISION, Aurora Gaming, FURIA, and MOUZ. Stories to track:
- Vitality arrive as the world number one and as the team to beat on European LAN.
- The MongolZ continue their run as Asia's strongest representative.
- Team Falcons look to translate roster depth into a first Major trophy.
- NAVI chase a return to the grand final after a quiet stretch in late 2025.
Stage 1 and Stage 2 will surface the dark horses. Watch for North American sides and emerging EU teams that have climbed VRS through the spring.
