VALORANT Masters London 2026 Preview: Teams, Storylines, Format
Masters London 2026 runs June 6 to 21 with 12 teams, $1M on the line, and a stacked EMEA contingent led by Heretics, Vitality, and FUT Esports.
VALORANT Masters London 2026 Preview
VALORANT Masters London 2026 is the second international stop of the VCT season, and it lands at the Copper Box Arena in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park from June 6 to June 21. Twelve teams, three from each of the four VCT regions, will fight for a $1,000,000 prize pool, with $350,000 reserved for the champion. This preview lays out the format, the qualified teams, the EMEA storylines coming off Stage 1, and the predictions that matter heading into London.
Key storylines
The biggest story heading into Masters London is Team Heretics, fresh off a 3-2 grand final win over Team Vitality at VCT EMEA Stage 1. The Spanish organization has rebuilt around a core that finally clicked at the right time, and they enter London as the top EMEA seed with a direct playoff spot waiting for them.
Vitality, meanwhile, arrive as the EMEA team most analysts expected to lift the Stage 1 trophy. Their second-place finish puts them in the Swiss stage, where they will need to work harder for a bracket slot, but the roster has the deepest VCT international experience of any French side in the field.
FUT Esports earned the third EMEA seed after a deep playoff run and head to London with momentum. The Turkish organization has been one of the most improved sides in EMEA across the last two seasons, and a Swiss-stage upset against a regional first seed would not surprise anyone who has watched their groups form.
Outside EMEA, Pacific brings Paper Rex, Global Esports, and FULL SENSE. Paper Rex remains the chaos engine of international VALORANT and the team most likely to break the bracket open with an unscoutable composition. Americas sends FURIA, MIBR, Leviatán, and KRÜ Esports through Playoffs spots, with the final three qualifiers to be confirmed before opening day. China sends Xi Lai Gaming, EDward Gaming, and Dragon Ranger Gaming. The Chinese region has closed the international gap quickly since joining the franchised system, and a deep run from any of the three would lift the entire league.
Teams and rosters
Confirmed qualifiers:
EMEA: Team Heretics (1st seed), Team Vitality (2nd seed), FUT Esports (3rd seed).
Pacific: Paper Rex, Global Esports, FULL SENSE.
Americas: FURIA, MIBR, Leviatán, KRÜ Esports have Playoffs spots locked, with three additional qualifiers being finalized through the Stage 1 closeout.
China: Xi Lai Gaming, EDward Gaming, Dragon Ranger Gaming.
Twelve teams in total, three per region.
Format and full schedule
The bracket splits across two stages over sixteen days.
Swiss Stage (June 6 to 10): Eight teams compete, made up of the second and third seeds from every region. Wins advance, losses send teams toward an elimination match. The top four from the Swiss stage advance to the playoffs.
Playoffs (June 11 to 21): The four regional first seeds skip Swiss entirely and pick their upper bracket opponents from the four Swiss qualifiers. From there it runs as a double-elimination eight-team bracket. The lower bracket leads up to a grand final on June 21.
The first-seed bye is the new wrinkle worth watching. A region's top team gets two practical advantages: one week of extra prep and the right to choose its first opponent. Heretics in particular benefit from the structure, since they will scout four Swiss survivors and pick the matchup that fits their map pool best.
All Swiss matches are best-of-three. The playoff lower bracket runs best-of-three through the semifinals, with the grand final scaling to best-of-five.
Predictions
The trophy is more open than at any Masters in recent memory. A short prediction layer:
- Finals favorite: Paper Rex. Pacific has the deepest map pool of any region in 2026, and Paper Rex are the most experienced team in the field. They have lifted Masters trophies before. They could do it again.
- Dark horse: FUT Esports. Third seeds rarely make grand finals, but FUT have the role definition and the protocol clarity to grind through the Swiss stage and into the upper bracket.
- EMEA pick: Team Heretics. The Stage 1 trophy plus the bye plus the bracket choice. The compound advantage stacks up.
- Bracket buster: KRÜ Esports. Latin America has been knocking on the door for two seasons. KRÜ have the firepower to take a map off any team in the field.
- The wild card: Xi Lai Gaming. China's slot has been variable at international stops. If XLG's setup translates to LAN, the bracket gets very interesting very quickly.
